Need help deciding how to get out of the army/possibly recl...?

Hey guys I've been an 11b in the army for about 2 years now and I have 8 months left to serve until I can get honarably discharged. I plan on doing the rest of my 8 months but I need help on deciding what to do afterwards. Personally, I hate this job and I'm positive that I don't want to reenlist to stay 11b. I really want to go back to college but am afraid ill get behind on bills which I have a ton of. I have an insane car monthly car payment of $514 bc my credit is pretty bad and I also have a cell phone bill each month. A friend told me that the gi bill would pay about $1400 a month but im not sure whether to believe him or not and I'm weary of this bc I'm afraid I would have problems with getting the money on time. Getting out of the army completely is what I really want most but have decided that if I can't keep up with my bills as a civillian then ill have to try my luck at recling. if you have experience with the gi bill please let me know how its worked for you and any advice you might have for my situation.
