Snowboard tight pants where to sew?

Hello i always hear how people sew in their snow pants to make them a slimmer style fit, and i want to try it out. Im not quite sure how to though. Do you pinch them above the knees and just sew the pinched fabric together? Will this make them look funny and bunched up on one side? Could someone just explain where to sew and how to do it.
